A financial institution based in Sandton, Johannesburg, is looking for a dynamic Digital Marketing Specialist to help develop and implement effective digital marketing campaigns across various retail and business target markets, across digital channels and platforms .

Responsibilities and Duties:

Planning and execution of digital campaigns:

  • Define and track different digital audiences to understand customer journey, needs and behaviors.
  • Develop and execute all digital marketing campaigns on behalf of the company including SEM, Display, Paid Social and SEO through performance and positioning campaigns.
  • Collaborate with external partners, as appropriate.
  • Implement and monitor effective lead collection campaigns as per business needs.
  • Responsible for direct media implementation and buying into appropriate channels to ensure maximum return on investment. (Note: The candidate is not using the services of an external digital media buying provider. Therefore, the candidate must have extensive experience in different digital platform ad managers and have the ability to put implemented on all platforms).
  • Investigate and recommend the use of digital media channels and digital marketing opportunities relevant to business strategy.
  • Provide an overview of budget options and recommendations to ensure effective and efficient spending.

Data and campaign tracking, monitoring, optimization and reporting

  • Ensure digital channels (e.g. web, app) are perfectly suited for collecting and converting leads and ensure effective follow-up is facilitated and managed across all channels.
  • Effectively track, report and optimize user insights, behavior and journeys across digital channels.
  • Coordinate with development teams to ensure the effectiveness of internally developed tools and dashboards, and facilitate the efficient use and insights of external tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Amplitude, Funnel, etc.)
  • Provide analytics, insights and intelligence on performance metrics including project and campaign analysis, effectiveness metrics, customer metrics, and overall ROI for digital marketing.
  • Measure the performance of all digital campaigns against ROI goals and adjust as needed.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Higher education degree in marketing, digital marketing or branding.
  • Google certification (AdWords/G4/SEO/Display/Adsearch) is very advantageous.
  • The Meta Experience /badge/ certification is very advantageous.
  • Five+ years of experience in digital marketing, campaign planning and implementation.
  • The digital media buying experience is essential.
  • Experience with digital marketing automation software.
  • Experience with tracking technologies i.e. UTM and Google Tag Manager.
