Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role will be an articulate, proactive and well-organized professional who is able to support LBBA staff in pursuing new activities and can maintain and create marketing materials including: company profile/resume, lines brand guidelines, website, social media. , logos, presentations, photographs, price submissions and publications.

Terms

Core Functions/Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain office graphics and growing company portfolio/project pages in web and print format.
  • Administer the firm’s blog and social media.

  • Administer the photography of the project, using internal and third-party photographers and resources.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work with partners to research new projects and potential clients.
  • Prepare and organize responses to Requests for Proposals and Requests for Qualifications.
  • Prepare and organize responses to price submissions.
  • Administer and optimize the firm’s website:
  • Prepare and organize PowerPoint presentations for staff at conferences and other industry events.
  • Build connections and communications with local non-profit and community groups and cultivate and expand existing relationships, including municipal agencies.
  • Maintain a calendar of upcoming rewards and marketing events.
  • Maintain media, press and awards records.
  • Interface with publishers regarding media and awards.
  • Collaborate with LBBA staff to identify meaningful outreach activities and provide necessary support.
  • Assist the primary media contact; develop and implement public relations strategies, including media outreach, press releases, media inquiries and maintenance of publication records.
  • Assist the Brand Manager, ensuring appropriate and consistent use of brand attributes, logos and naming conventions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as the ability to write well and translate complex issues into simple language that non-expert people can understand.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Microsoft Office Suite and WordPress. Basic HTML and CSS skills are a plus.
  • Strong interest in architecture, urban planning and/or community development in Chicago and the region.

Training and/or experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in architecture, planning, art history, communication, journalism or in a discipline related to design.
  • Experience in the field of architecture and design and/or practical experience in marketing, communication and graphic design.
