Common Justice develops and delivers solutions to violence that transform the lives of those harmed and promote racial equity without relying on incarceration. Locally, we operate the first alternative to incarceration and victim services programs in the United States to focus on violent crimes in adult court. At the national level, we leverage lessons learned from our direct service to transform the justice system through partnerships, advocacy and by elevating the experience and power of those most affected. Rigorous and hopeful, we develop practical strategies to hold people accountable for harm, break cycles of violence, and ensure safety, healing and justice for survivors and their communities.
Common Justice’s work includes broad narrative change efforts to support shifts in policy and culture. The organization is committed to telling the truth about violence, who survives it, who causes it, and the strategies to end it. Communications work creates and deploys broad new platforms to elevate the voices and leadership of those impacted by bloc violence on Capitol Hill.

The ideal candidate will maximize our ability to build a digital foundation, think critically and creatively about digital media strategies and campaigns, promote innovative thinking in the area of alternatives to incarceration and victim services, and to create opportunities for productive communication between advocates, activists, healers, and survivors.
